I teamed up with Hot Topic this month to promote their The Batman clothing collection! Now I definitely have opinions about the fit of everything and I wanted to be totally transparent about my struggle with the pieces. The tee fits perfect! Super soft and stretchy and this is in a juniors size 3XL. They do make it in plus as well, but initially they sent me juniors sizes and I had to send the jacket and leggings back to get the plus sizes sent instead. Now, the jacket, which is a plus size 3, fits comfortably and does get a little hot after a little bit of wearing it as the fabric doesn’t breathe. So keep that in mind if you live in a warmer climate like I do (this would be fine where it’s super cold/colder). The arms are WAY too long for me and I would probably have to get it tailored to have the cuff sit at my wrist. The cuffs of the jacket are also super big and does make me feel like I’m wearing a jacket that is too big for me. It does feel like they made this for someone much taller (and thicker). I’m 5’6 so I’m not exactly short. Unfortunately if I would have went down a size, it wouldn’t have been able to be zipped and the biceps would have been too tight. The leggings were my BIGGEST issue. They are a plus size 2 (a size smaller than my usual) and are still too large in the waist, crotch, and ankles (I recommend going 1-2 sizes down). They originally had sent me a plus size 3 after I returned the juniors 3XL (which were too small) and those were REALLY big. These are pulled all the way up to under my bra band and are still too big. I could probably get away with a plus size 1. The ankles and beneath the calves are so big they are hard to wear boots over and I really had to hide how bad it looked by moving all the bulk behind my legs so it wouldn’t look bad in photos. You can still see how they’re too big though. The manufacturer who made these definitely needs a lesson in plus sizing. I really feel like they made these with a plus size with a larger upper and lower stomach and larger ankles. They really fit like leggings that want to be pants at the bottoms and I really don’t like that (I’ve already gotten comments from others saying they like the “pants”, which are sadly leggings). The straight sizing doesn’t appear to have these fit issues with the leggings or jacket from what I’ve seen (i’m not surprised at all by this). I’ll probably alter these with my sewing machine when I have time just to get the leggings to fit properly. The jacket will need an expert tailor.
